在单聚物薄膜上存贮许多互相紧挨全息图的技术有可能使数据存贮密度达到普通计算机硬(磁)盘的100000倍。由于全息图既记录入射光的相位信息,又记录光强,因而可存贮大量信息。这种全息图象是三维记录,而不象普通照片那样只是两维记录。现在,瑞士苏黎世联邦技术研究所的研究人员正在研究通过某种介质上记录大量全息图来提高这种存贮容量的方法,其潜在容量可提高到10~(14)bit/cm~2。
It is possible to store data at a density of up to 100000 times that of a normal computer hard disk by storing many of the techniques close to each other on a monomeric film. Since the hologram records both the phase information of the incident light and the light intensity, a large amount of information can be stored. This holographic image is a three-dimensional record, not just a two-dimensional record like a normal photograph. Now, researchers at the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland, are working on ways to increase the storage capacity by recording a large number of holograms on a medium with a potential capacity of 10-14 (14) bit / cm2.
