正像端度的量块、质量的砝码一样,标准物质是传递化学量值,保证化学量准确性和溯源性的先进工具。近几十年来,世界各国日益重视标准物质的研究、生产和使用,如美国1906年只能提供铸铁几个标准物质,而现在发展到一千多种,广泛地应用于工业、农业、生物、食品、临床、环保、能源和核防护等领域。我国1980年才开始这一研究,到现在为止,已公布了120种一级标准物质,另有50种即将公布。随着工农业生产和科学技术的发展,以及对外进一步开放,我国的标准物质工作将越来越显示出它的重要性。
