我厂与勘探所、锦外哈成金刚石试验厂协作,经过一年多的努力,上千次数据的测定,研制成了爆炸金刚石聚合体钻头。在湖南地质局405地质队进行了生产试验。第一个聚合体钻头在孔底有残留合金磨坏的情况下还进尺96米,最后因管钳夹坏而停止使用,其时效为2.2米/小时,为本矿区小口径钻进的最高纪录。第二批试验的第一个聚合体钻头在白云岩、灰岩地层已进尺120.47米,平均时效2.1米,磨损甚微,尚能继续使用。还有三个钻头都在分别进尺39.50米、23米、11米的情况下被孔底残留合金磨坏。虽然试验的钻头数目还不多,但已表明,这种新型的聚合体钻头在某些岩层中是有发展前途的。钻头特点是:
