As of 1 September 2016, the United States deployed 681 sets of nuclear-weapon delivery vehicles (including intercontinental ballistic missiles, submarine-launched ballistic missiles and heavy bombers) for a total of 1,376 nuclear warheads and a total of 848 nuclear weapons vehicles deployed and stockpiled. Russia deployed 508 sets of nuclear-weapon delivery vehicles carrying a total of 1,796 nuclear warheads, while a total of 847 nuclear-weapon delivery vehicles were deployed and stockpiled.
