各种形式的农业生产责任制推行后,防治病虫害由承包耕地的作业组或千家万户分散进行。许多社员由于缺少植保知识,不会查虫、用药,加之药物和药械等准备不足,出现了盲目施药,成本高,防治效果不好,以及人畜中毒等问题。武昌县大桥公社十月大队为了适应新情况,于去年七月组织了一个机械植保专业队(以下简称机防组),购置了五台泰山—18型机动喷雾喷粉器,抽调了13名有专业特长的人,通过短期技术培训后,开始了植保承包业务。
