Stem cells are the hope of cell therapy, but it also has a negative side. Stem cells have the potential for malignant transformation, which is the underlying cause of some cancers and is probably the cause of many cancers. Finding and eliminating malignant stem cells in cancer cells may help eliminate cancer.
