2006年7月1日,青藏铁路正式通车试运营。历时半个世纪,青藏铁路的建成通车,圆了中国几代人的梦想。中央决策建设青藏铁路是在20世纪50年代,1956年开始,铁道部第一勘测设计院开始对从兰州到拉萨的2000余km线路进行全面的勘测设计工作。其后由于各种原因项目停停建建。1984年青藏铁路西宁至格尔木段建成通车,2001年6月29日,青藏铁路格拉段正式开工建设,2005年10月15日,青藏铁路全线铺通。青藏铁路格拉段东起青海格尔木,西至西藏拉萨,全长1142km,途经纳赤台、五道梁、沱沱河、雁石坪,翻越唐古拉山,再经西藏自治区安多、那曲、当雄、羊八井到拉萨。其中海拔4000m以上的路段960km,多年冻土地段550km,翻越唐古拉山的铁路最高点海拔5072m,是全球海拔最高和最长的高原铁路。它因挑战了人类的各种能力极限而举世瞩目。人们称其为“天路”,因为它是距离上苍最近的路。在庆祝青藏铁路通车之际,编发下文,以纪念在青藏铁路建设中,国产重型卡车企业挑战极限、勇创一流的青藏铁路精神,和建设青藏铁路那段难忘的岁月。——编者
July 1, 2006, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway officially opened to trial operation. After half a century, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway was opened to traffic and rounded up the dreams of several generations in China. The central government decided to build the Qinghai-Tibet Railway in the 1950s. Since 1956, the First Survey and Design Institute of the Ministry of Railways started carrying out a comprehensive survey and design of over 2,000 km of lines from Lanzhou to Lhasa. After that, due to various reasons, the project stopped construction. In 1984, the Xining-Golmud section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway was opened to traffic. On June 29, 2001, the Gela section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway was officially started construction. On October 15, 2005, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway was completed. The Gela section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway runs east from Golmud in Qinghai and Lhasa in Tibet to the west for a total length of 1142km. It passes through the Naxitai, Wudaoliang, Tuotuohe and Yanshiping, crosses the Tanggula Mountain, and then passes by Ando, Nagqu, Dangxiong and Sheep of the Tibet Autonomous Region Yachi to Lhasa. Among them, the altitude above 4000m is 960km, the permafrost area is 550km, and the highest point of the railway crossing the Tanggula Mountain is 5072m above sea level. It is the highest and longest plateau railway in the world. It has attracted worldwide attention because it has challenged the limits of human capabilities. People call it “the heavenly road” because it is the closest road to God.
