Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) are irreversible polymers formed by saccharides in the body through non-enzymatic saccharification processes with the amino groups of macromolecules such as proteins, nucleic acids or lipids. Recent studies have shown that advanced glycation end products are closely related to renal, liver, lung, blood vessels and peritoneal fibrosis, and its mechanism of promoting fibrosis involves many aspects of fibrosis, including the extracellular matrix, Fibroblasts and fibroblasts and so on. This article will review the relevant research results in recent years from the above three aspects.
