Modern architecture reviews and teaching rarely discuss style, especially personal style. For half a century, the entire commentary system dominated by functionalism and functionalism has shied away from talking about personal style, or it may use clichés and just a few words to answer such questions. Because this issue is so profound and elusive, it has caused various reactions ranging from “suspicion” to “complete opposition.” However, style is the foundation of our architectural evaluation, and it is the cause of many problems in architectural language, theory, and practice.
