Objective To investigate the changes of Plt parameters, blood glucose, blood lipid and blood pressure in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients. Methods Seventy-nine patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes who were treated from September 2011 to September 2013 were selected as the observation group and 48 healthy subjects were selected as the control group. Fasting venous blood was taken in both groups early in the morning and blood pressure was measured before blood sampling. The levels of Plt, MPV, PDW, FBG, HbA1c, TC, TG, HDL-C and LDL-C were measured respectively. Results The levels of MPV, PDW, FBG and HbA1c in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group [(9.5 ± 2) vs (± 12.3 ± 2.9)%, (13.06 ± 5.26) mmol / L, (P <0.05), while Plt [(154 ± 52) × 109 / L] was lower than that of the control group [(195 ± 47 ) × 109 / L], the differences were statistically significant (t = 12.681,5.392,10.007,14.772,4.465, all P <0.05). (1.47 ± 0.78) mmol / L and HDL-C [(1.07 ± 0.30) mmol / L] in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group [(1.39 ± 0.34 ) mmol / L], the differences were statistically significant (t = 2.235, 5.540, all P <0.05). The systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group [(130 ± 18), (81 ± 10) mm Hg (1 mm Hg = 0.133 kPa)] [(119 ± 14) and (75 ± 10) mm Hg] , The difference was statistically significant (t = 3.619,3.279, all P <0.05). Conclusions Patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes have changed their Plt parameters, blood glucose, blood lipids and blood pressure. These changes have promoted the development of future diabetic vascular complications.
