Low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) plus low doses of aspirin is the new standard in the prevention of habitual abortion due to antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (aPL). Although intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) appears to be effective, researchers found that LMWH plus low-dose aspirin is ultimately more effective than IVIG and recommends that it be considered as a standard treatment.
