用范成法加工齿轮的传统工艺是:滚刀的刃部或槽部之一和齿轮工件对中。本刊争鸣园地多次发表了有关“滚刀无需对中”的文章,经笔者反复分析,认为讨论此问题很有必要,这是由于大多数工厂认为“滚刀对中”花费了很多的精力和时间。并认为滚刀无需对中全面否定滚刀对中的作用是不尽合理的,但一律要烦琐的滚刀对中亦无必要。今就此论点加以阐述。一、滚齿范成原理众所周知,滚齿加工是按照齿轮和齿条啮合原理进行的,如图1所示。刀具朝箭头方向转动时,滚刀本身并不产生轴向移动,而滚刀切削刃所形成的假想齿条从右向左连续地平行移动,若轮坯转动与假想齿条作严格的啮合运动,那么就会在轮坯上切出齿形来,这就是说,滚刀中间齿的不同位置的轴截面是沿滚
