The American dream has repeatedly appeared in the American social culture and American literature. Many excellent writers have expressed this theme profoundly. There is no doubt that Dresser is the most influential one among them. This article describes and analyzes the disillusionment of the American dream under the works of Dresser in three parts. That is, the disillusionment of the American dream in the bottom figure, the disillusionment of the artist American dream and the disillusionment of the Puritan American dream.
