七级下闸又称七级北闸,是京杭大运河会通河段上一座石质船闸,始建于元代,历经明、清两代复建和重修,清末裁撤闸官后废弃,20世纪60年代改建为桥。2012年12月至次年1月,为配合南水北调东线工程建设,山东省文物考古研究所在聊城市文物局和阳谷县文物管理所的配合下,对船闸进行了考古发掘,现将发掘情况简单报告如下。
The lower gate, also known as the seven-level north gate, is a stone ship lock on the Huitong reach of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.
