In all parts of the world, the public television industry is seeking ways to redefine its mission and funding sources. The ability to reassess yourself is crucial to the survival of anybody. Public television throughout the world is experiencing a process of self-criticism. Public television, in order to not become a museum display, must reconsider what it should represent and where its funding should come from. This is the conclusion of the IGC IGC meeting held at UNESCO Headquarters from March 24 to 27. This meeting discussed the “political, technical and economic challenges of public television broadcasting.”
