兴平地处关中腹地,历史悠久,源远流长,素有“菜心心”之美称,以唐肃宗至德二年(公元757年)置“兴平军”而得名。古代多为京畿之地。夏属雍州,西周曾为都城,汉设槐里县制,唐末始称兴平县。并以茂陵与杨贵妃墓闻名全国。1993年经国务院批准撤县建兴平市。 兴平市位于陕西中部,东临秦都,西接武功,南依渭水,与周(?)户县隔河相望,北面同乾县、礼泉接壤。全市面积507平方公里,辖3镇11乡,两个街道办事处,240个行政村。物华天宝,人杰地灵,地理位置优越,是关中平原著名的米粮仓和工业基地。陇海铁路、西宝公路中北两线、西宝高等级公路、西兰公路横贯东西。16户大中型企业矗立在城区周围。目前,兴平已
