图象可给人以直观形象的具体概念,这是语言所无法比拟的。由于图象信息占用频带宽,限制了图象通信的应用。但随着大规模集成电路存储器、高速A/D变换器、新型显示器件及计算机技术的发展,解决图象通信问题日益成熟。近年来,静态图象通信研究颇为活跃。特别是利用现有电话线路进行窄带静态图象通信的研究,既可用现有话路(4千赫)或更大容量的电路传输静态图象,也可利用目前已相当普及的电视机作为终端显示设备。静态图象通信在我国目前仍处于研制阶段。它可使用在我军高级指挥所之间或高级指挥所与必须随时观察的某现场、要点之间,用以及时获得准实时图象情报信息。
