从古老的日晷(利用太阳位置的变化测定并划分时刻)到漏刻(利用水滴速度计时),再到今天的各式各样的钟表,人类可谓想尽办法来观察、利用我们的时间。然而,许多动物却拥有它们与生俱来的天然“时钟”。招潮蟹的“劳力士”在西部非洲、大西洋西部、东太平洋和印度洋的泥质海滩上,生活着一种人们很容易辨识的小蟹——招潮蟹。
From the ancient sundial (measuring the change of the sun’s position and dividing the time) to the moment of omission (using the drip rate timepiece) and today’s various timepieces, human beings can find ways to observe and make use of our time. However, many animals have their natural “clock”. Fiddler crab’s “Rolex” lives on a muddy beach in Western Africa, the western Atlantic, the Eastern Pacific and the Indian Ocean.
