The 1394b is the next new release of the IEEE 1394 digital link standard. 1394b stipulates that the data transmission speed should reach 800Mbits / s, the transmission distance reaches 100 meters. The second draft of 1394b was submitted to the 1394 Trade Association for review in September 2000 pending approval of the vote. The new ”Firewire" specification requires direct targeting of multimedia applications and home networks, providing these applications with faster speeds than previous versions
