作为一个正式的概念,现代“民族主义”(nationalism)无疑是随欧洲近代“民族国家”(nationstate)的形成而产生的。由此,近代以来便一直有人认为中国传统中没有“国家”“民族”概念而只有“天下”概念。近来又有人再拾其余唾,认为中国传统的“天下”观是博大宽容的、真正“文明的”。而以民族主义为核心的西方主流思想(姑不论此说是否准确)则是“野蛮的”,因此只有“中国文化”才能拯救人类,所以要用“中国文化”取代“西方文化”、由中国来为世界重新制定“游戏规则”。【1】尽管此说在学术上了无新意,但“旧调重弹”的社会背景
