1953年秋,新任法国印度支那远征军司令纳瓦尔为阻断越军向老挝发展,于11月20日越南西北边境靠近老挝的奠边府盆地空降两个营共1827人,以亡11人,伤52人的代价攻占此地。越军守军两个连在战斗中牺牲90人,被俘4人,退出奠边府。此后,法军共向奠边府空降了1.6万人。一场决定越南抗法战争命运的战略决战就此拉开战幕。
In the fall of 1953, Naval, the new French Indochina Expeditionary Force commander in chief, blocked the Vietnam Army’s development to Laos. On November 20, two camps of airmen were killed and 11 were injured in the Dien Bien Phu Basin near the northwestern border of Vietnam, killing 11 people. 52 people to capture the price of this place. Two of the Vietnamese army defenders even sacrificed 90 people during the fighting and captured 4 people and quit Dien Bien Phu. Since then, the French army airborne 16,000 people to Dien Bien Phu. A strategic decisive battle that decided the fate of Vietnam’s war of resistance against Japan opened this war.
