近年来,国外正在研究“大压下”轧制工艺,为轧钢机的发展开辟了一条新的途径。国外现有的大压下设备见表1。其中特别是西德施洛曼—西马克公司设计制造的三辊行星斜轧机和考克斯公司设计制造的摆锻机都具有良好的发展前途。利用这种轧机可以只用一个机架、一个道次获得≤90%的压下率,相当普通轧机4~15个道次(或4~15架连轧机)的压下效果,这样可显著降低基建投资、减小占地面积、提高技术经济指标、简化电气控制、降低能源消耗、降低生产成本及简化操作过程等优点,特别适合于场地狭窄的挖潜改造。
