就一般论而言,在晚清学堂史的发展过程中,区域内初等教育(本文主要指中、小、蒙、半日学堂)的设立热潮,大致是在进入20世纪之后形成的。如果仅仅从制度史的视点来考察,其契机无疑是与《奏定学堂章程》(1904年)的制订和废除科举制度(1905年)有着直接的关系。晚清有关设立学制、废除科举的相关史料和多数报刊资料记载了当时的情况,二者在近代教育史中的积极意义业
In terms of general theory, in the development of the history of schools in the late Qing Dynasty, the establishment of primary education in the region (mainly referred to in this paper as small, medium and half-day schools) was basically formed after the 20th century. If we look at it from the perspective of institutional history, its turning point is undoubtedly directly related to the formulation and abolishment of the Imperial Examination System (1905) in the Statute of Governing Schools (1904). In the late Qing Dynasty, the relevant historical materials for abolishing the imperial examination system and the information of most newspapers and periodicals recorded the circumstances at that time and the positive significance of the two in the history of modern education
