This article describes a simple and inexpensive binary visual processing system with all its interface and data processing functions implemented and completed by the INTEL8751 microcontroller. The visual sensor uses a 64Kbit dynamic RAM chip to provide a resolution of 256 × 128 pixel image. In this visual system can run the image processing algorithm, and the statistics of objects can be sent to the host computer through the serial interface. All systems use only four integrated circuit chips, ideal for component identification and inspection in flexible processing system environments.
