艺术是一种精神文化的创造行为,是人类在特殊的自然环境、经济模式、政治结构、意识形态等条件的作用下所产生的精神文化积淀,是人的意识形态和生产形态的有机结合体,这些艺术积淀已深深地融进人类的思想和行为之中,渗透到社会政治、经济、特别是精神生活的各个领域。它于培养和提高人的思想、文化、审美和道德素质,有着极其重要的意义。艺术文化中所表达的珍爱生命、崇尚道德、重视智慧等人文主义精神有利于新时期的医学高校大学生思想素质的提高,在21世纪的人才培养中,应当认真地加以弘扬。在建设现代化医疗卫生事业的征途中,在社会主义市场经济条件下,在对大学生进行爱国主义、社会主义教育的同时,加强艺术文化教育,弘扬科学指导下的人文主义精神,使他们形成正确的世界观、人生观和价值观,不仅对其求学、执医生涯具有重要的现实意义,而且对建设有中国特色的现代化医疗卫生事业具有深远的战略意义。
