益阳医学高等专科学校的前身是创办于1950年的益阳卫生学校,2007年3月经教育部批准成立的普通高等专科学校,全日制在校生规模暂定为4000人,招生对象近年内同时招收高中毕业起点三年制大专和初中毕业起点三年制中专学生。
