Objective To investigate the significance of LDL-C / HDL-C ratio in the pathogenesis of symptomatic atherosclerotic intracranial arterial stenosis (sICAS) in young and middle-aged patients. Methods Thirty-seven young and middle-aged sICAS patients were divided into two groups according to NIHSS score. 40 middle-aged and young patients with dizziness were collected as control group. The difference of LDL-C / HDL-C ratio between case group and control group was analyzed. After 6 months of treatment, the vascular lesions of the case group were analyzed again, and the comparison of LDL-C / HDL-C ratio before and after treatment was made. Results The LDL-C / HDL-C ratio increased in young and middle-aged patients with sICAS, which was significantly different from the control group. After treatment, 64.71% of the patients with intracranial stenosis improved and the ratio of LDL-C / HDL- Smaller, before and after the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion The increase of LDL-C / HDL-C ratio is an important risk factor for sICAS in middle-aged and younger patients. Intervention with aspirin and atorvastatin can reduce the LDL-C / HDL-C ratio and alleviate sICAS in middle-aged and young patients.
