This paper examines some language styles of The Old Man and The Sea and tries to discover the stylistic effect of these language styles and the role the stylistic effect plays in portraying the hero’s qualities and highlighting the theme of the nov-ella.The author of the paper forms an attempt to bring to light the hero’s nature and character mainly by the modes of stylistic analyses-Internal Deviation,Speech and Thought Presentation.Stylistic analyses can promote a better understanding of the hero and the theme of the novella.
