从1984年《雅马哈鱼档》到1997年的《安居》,广东的电影事业和共和国一道经历了翻天覆地的变化。我们可以列出一串长长的耀眼的影片目录:《雅马哈鱼档》、《都市流行曲》、《花街皇后》、《绝响》、《女人街》、《给咖啡加点糖》、《太阳雨》、《心香》、《商界》、《安居》……这些影片,被称为南国都市电影。南国都市电影是在中国改革开放的南方沃土中孕育出来的,也随着改革开放的的深入而逐渐成熟。社会改革的浪潮必然带来人的精神和心理的巨变,这些年处于变革前沿的南国都市的变化给人带来的冲击力量比过去的年代不知要丰富、复杂和强烈多少倍。从这一长串的影片中,我们可以清晰地看到、感受到、触摸到南国都市及都市人、都市文化发展变化的轨迹。与此同时,更可以看出处于社会变革中的电影艺术家在不断地关注生活,他们面对转型剧烈变化的社会,或是感到兴奋和激动,或是因准备不足而感到惊悸和惶恐,或者把我们带入了对正在孕育中的现代文明的思考和困惑中。然而随着对社会变革适应和深入探索,从后期的都市电影中我们也看到了艺术家的深邃和冷静。因而,对南国都市电影的研究,既是对变革中的生活的研
