1929年12月11日,在邓小平、张云逸等同志领导下举行百色起义,组成了中国工农红军第七军,张云逸任军长,邓小平任政委。起义部队的基础是广西教导总队、警备第四大队和韦拔群领导的地方武装。原警备四大队编有一个医疗所,军官教导队编有医务处。1929年上半年,四大队医务所有5名医生,军官教导总队医务处有4名医生。到了6月间形势发生变化,部队自南宁开赴平马、百色,不少人
December 11, 1929, under the leadership of Deng Xiaoping, Zhang Yunyi and other comrades held Baise Uprising, formed the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants Red Army seventh army, Zhang Yunyi Ren Junchang, Deng Xiaoping Ren commissar. The bases of the insurrectionary forces are local armed groups led by the Guangxi Teaching Corps, the Fourth Brigade and the Wei Baqun.
