Giuseppe Bottiglieri, born in 1948, is the fifth generation representative of the family of Torre del Greco owners (founded in 1850) and joined the company at the age of 22 to assist his father, Giovanni Battati Bottiglieri, in his family business. In 1976 he relocated his shipping operations from Naples to Athens and remained there for 18 years, gaining very useful international experience. Today, thanks to 40 years of experience, Giuseppe is the most famous figure in the Italian shipping industry. In 1995, he was elected to the board of directors of Confitarma, the Italian shipowner association. Since 2001, he has served as Chairman of the Ocean Shipping Commission (ONC) and member of the Executive Committee. In the meantime, he is also Vice President of INTERCARGO, Head of the UK P & I Club, Board Member of INTERTANKO, Member of the BIMCO Documentation Committee, and Member of the American Bureau of Shipping Italia.
