重庆建筑工程学院位于祖国西南重镇、美丽的山城——重庆。这所座落在重庆沙坪坝区、歌乐山麓、嘉陵江畔的建筑类学院,系1952年全国高等学校院系调整时,由重庆大学、云南大学、贵州大学,西南工专等9所西南地区高等学校的土木系,建筑系等合并成立的。从她诞生的那天起,就具有西南地区的特色,而又面向全国招生。1978年被国家列为全国重点院校之一。学院占地600余亩,总建筑面积17万余平方米。1978年以来,国家又为学院投资近5000万元,新建了教学、科研、实验及生活用房62000多平方米,有电子计算中心、测试中心等39个实验室。图书馆面积
