Recently, the “2013 National Press Factory Director Conference” was held in Beijing. Mr. Lian Lian Lian, director of the Printing Working Committee, made a summary report on the 2012 newspaper printing industry at the meeting. In his report, Mr. Lian Lian conducted a statistical analysis on the annual printing volume of Chinese newspapers in recent years. The analysis shows that the total number of national newspapers printed in 2012 was 163 billion sheets, down 2.86% from that of 167.7 billion sheets printed in 2011.
