甜菜质量的好坏,含糖高低直接关系到糖厂的产品质量和产量。我厂由1957年投产以来,经过了21个生产期(其中1961~1963年转产)。由于甜菜含糖不同,各生产期每生产一吨砂糖所消耗的甜菜数量不等。从1964年到1980年连续17个生产期,平均每吨糖耗用甜菜7250公斤,其中耗用甜菜最高的是1980年,菜丝含糖为14.846%,每吨糖耗用8420公斤,最低的是1971年菜丝含糖为18.854%,每吨糖耗用6480公斤,1971、1980二年菜丝含糖差4.008%,每吨糖耗用甜菜差1940公斤。因此,甜菜含糖的高低是决定糖厂各项指标完成情况的主要因素。
