近年来,先后出现过诸多极其重要的审美活动,其中之一就是以高雅的“纯艺术”形式使所谓的“手工艺”(陶瓷、珠宝、纺织品设计、玻璃器皿、等等)摆脱它们固有的空间。曾几何时,现代的欧洲将实用性和装饰性与这些手工艺相提并论,从而将它们排斥在与绘画、音乐和文学息息相关的世界——历史的命运之外,但它们在据信是反实用主义的无意识中却表现出了其他任何艺术都无法表现出的那种真、美与善。随着数世纪审美思想在后现代主义艺术思潮中的分化,我们今天所面临的是所有艺术门类的分化和繁衍,这一点是不可置否的。
