Partial laryngectomy of the anterior commissure laryngeal cancer often results in a reduction of the glottis, a higher audible tone, and a tracheostomy. Vocal cord vibration weakened due to vocal cord disability and scarring of the anterior larynx affecting the elasticity of the laryngeal muscle. Many methods of reconstructing anterior commissure are complicated and have limited efficacy.
