北京型机车长期强化使用,导致12V2402型柴油机机体裂损和变形急剧增加,危及安全运行。为了延长柴油机使用寿命,缓解机体紧缺的燃眉之急,北京铁路局对机体重要部位的裂损变形进行了修复。主要采用电弧气刨和高速电磨铣刀相结合加工主机·油道裂损部位和焊接坡口;用挖补改造焊接法及加强型主油道改造老结构;用自动准直仪和测微准直望远镜等装备和技术检测机体的变形量;用PC-1500A形位误差数据处理系统评定测量数据;用经削加工、涂镀及扩孔镶套法等加工主轴承孔及凸轮轴孔的形位公差。自1990年1月至1994年2月共修复12V2402型柴油机裂损变形机体35台。修复后的机体经验收符合和高于段修标准,装车后均配属在主干线上进行运行考核,早期修复的机体安全运行已超过一个架修期。在架修拆检中。机体原裂损经焊修的部位,探伤检查未发现新的裂纹,变形亦在段修范围内,达到了预期研究目标。
