A total of 482 newborns were immunized with hepatitis B vaccine for 11 years. An encouraging result was obtained: the positive rate of HBsAg in infants in each immunization group (2.02% -3.71%) was significantly lower than that in the control group (9.35%). Anti-HBs levels after vaccination declined over time, but none of the subjects with ALT abnormalities associated with HBV infection were present. The use of hepatitis B vaccine also significantly reduced the HBV infection rate of their children by HBsAg-positive mothers. The findings in this paper show good results for hepatitis B vaccine.
