黄河从青海发源,流经西北黄土高原,挟带大量泥沙,东流经郑州进入豫、皖、苏、鲁平原,每当汛季,势急流骤,形若悬河。有史以来直迄解放以前,堤坝经常溃决,河身改道,浊流所经,又因迭遭人祸,民不聊生,大好良田变为飞沙走石,这一过去泛滥地区,地跨陇海铁路东段,黄河中下游两岸的豫东,皖北,苏北,鲁西南的99个县、市,通称黄河故道地
The Yellow River originated in Qinghai Province, flowing through the Northwest Loess Plateau, carrying a large amount of sediment and flowing eastward through Zhengzhou into the Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu and Shandong plains. Until the liberation of history, dikes often ruptured and river diversions and turbidity flowed through history. Before the liberation, they were turned into man-made disasters and poor peasants. Great fertile fields were turned into Feishazhang. This past area was flooding over the eastern section of the Longhai Railway, The lower reaches of the two sides of the eastern Henan, northern Anhui, northern Jiangsu, southwest of 99 counties, cities, known as the old course of the Yellow River
