宝应县地处苏中里下河地区北部,生产上以稻麦两熟为主,是一个稻麦两熟双高产地区。水稻品种以迟熟中粳稻为主,常年种植水稻5.9万hm2,产量水平9 500kg/hm2。为进一步提高水稻产量,依据区域特点,引进了科研育种单位新近育成、正在或即将在生产中使用的迟熟中粳稻新品种(系),组织大区种植展示,以筛选出适合本地生态气候条件和生产水平的高产、优质、多抗主导水稻新品种和后备品种,为大面积生产应用提供科学依据。
