目前国内各轴承厂的毛坯制造绝大多数采用热锻工艺,即热套锻或平锻有时再加扩孔。锻件精度低,氧化脱碳严重,加工余量大,材料利用率低,劳动条件差。据统计,全国轴承行业的平均材料利用率仅38%,每年耗费大量高级钢材和能源。温冷挤压是先进的少无切削新工艺,产品精度高、质量好,可以节约钢材,大大提高经济效益。国内很多工厂和研究单位都曾研究过采用温冷挤压工艺制造轴承环毛坯。
