On July 23, 2008, CCTV.com and Microsoft jointly announced that they formally established a strategic partnership in the studio of the CCTV network office building located on the bank of Yuyuantan Lake. In addition to Microsoft helping CCTV to create an Olympic news website during the Olympic Games, the two sides will have more in-depth cooperation in the future. Liu Zhenyu, vice president of Microsoft’s MSN, told reporters that the current cooperation between the two sides will be mainly in the user identity management, instant messaging and map search in three aspects. This means Microsoft MSN users can log in directly to CCTV using MSN accounts.
