在展望10年后通信网的时候,让我们先回顾一下10年来日本通信网的变化。10年前,除小规模的电报网外,电话网是唯一的公共网。1972年以前,电话网几乎只用于语音通信,后来由于联机系统,传真等的普及,数字通信业务量逐渐增加起来。因此,在以调制解调器为媒介的数据通信迅速增长的同时,也构成了数字数据通信网。这样,近10年间可以说是非语音通信的萌芽时期。

Looking ahead to the communications network after 10 years, let us first review the changes in Japan’s communications network over the past 10 years. Ten years ago, except the small-scale telegraph network, the telephone network was the only public network. Prior to 1972, the telephone network was used almost exclusively for voice communications, and as the popularity of online systems, faxes and the like increased, the volume of digital communications gradually increased. Therefore, while the data communication modeled on the modem is rapidly increasing, it also constitutes a digital data communication network. In this way, the past 10 years can be said that non-voice communication at the embryonic stage.
