大沥镇位于南海市中部,地处广州至佛山的结合部,东距广州7公里,南接佛山城区,有“广佛走廊”之称,水陆交通十分方便。大沥镇总面积79.36平方公里,辖1个城区,19个管理区,164个村委会,常住人口10.8万人,其中农业人口7.5万多人,外来人口8万多,另有港澳台同胞、海外侨胞3.8万多人。十一届三中全会以来,大沥镇人民群众在镇党委和镇政府的带领下,坚持以邓小平建设有中国特色的社会主义理论和党的基本路线为指导,坚决执行“抓住机遇,深化改革,扩大开放,促进发展,保持稳定”的大政方针,大力推进以建立社会主义市场经济体制为目标的各项改革,
