一、虫害发生与防治成就 我区位于大行山区,共有耕地800余万亩,其中玉米播种面积每年都在200万亩以上,占整个粮食作物的1/3,历年来玉米螟的发生为害,损失很大。据1953年调查:田间苗期有虫株率平均达32—40％,最高达60％以上,一般减产损失在20％左右,全区每年一般减产粮食一亿斤左右。从1953年开始,在党和政府的重视下,全区范围内掀起了处理玉米螟越冬寄主和苗期叶心灌药的防治运动,截至1957年,曾给了玉螟极大的杀伤,确实减少了虫害,但并未达到彻底消灭。
