(一)抗战期间我在昆明,当时担任云南大学的教授,同时广泛接触文化艺术界的朋友及青年学生,还有部分产业界的人士和故乡者旧。在这些人中间,大家对开展抗日救亡和争取民主,促进社会进步交换意见,并积极开展各种活动。当时,北方一些大学都从沦陷区迁到昆明及昆明附近,一些国内知名的学者,进步的知识分子也都先后到达了昆明,因此一时间,昆明的进步文化活动,青年学生抗日救亡的宣传工作和文化艺术等活动都十分活跃。

At the same time, I had extensive contacts with friends and young students from the cultural and art circles, as well as some industrialists and old people. Among these people, they exchanged views on launching anti-Japanese national salvation and fighting for democracy and promoting social progress, and actively carried out various activities. At that time, some universities in the north moved from the occupied areas to near Kunming and Kunming. Some well-known scholars and progressive intellectuals in the north also arrived in Kunming. Therefore, for a time, the progressive cultural activities in Kunming and the propaganda work of youth students in resisting Japan and the country And cultural and arts activities are very active.
