菜心是菜苔的一种,主要以抽苔而未开花的肥嫩茎及其叶丛供食。别名有广东菜苔、广东菜等。菜心品质柔嫩油绿、清香甜口、风味别致。在广东周年远销港澳、成为出口的主要蔬菜。而在江浙沪一带只能以青菜的心叶替代。从1986年开始,舟山市农科昕、浙农大园艺系、杭州市种子公司和省种子公司先后引进了广州的20号菜心、49菜心以及柳州菜心,通过多年分期播种试验表明,菜心在我省各地均宜种植。其中以“广州20号”菜心产量最高,平均亩产1000—2000kg,比对照小白菜增产26.56%—29%,亩产值一股在1000—1300元。
