1791年6月,国王路易十六出逃。翌年8月,国王被废黜并被逮捕。其间,骚动和冲突不断增多,6月,愤怒的人们冲进了杜伊勒里王宫。到了9月,国民公会成立并宣布废除王政、实行共和。至此,人们普遍预感到路易十六注定要被审判,而且其通往断头台的道路已不远了。实际上,事情也绝不是一帆风顺的,对国王从审讯到处决的整个过程纷杂曲折,充满了明争暗斗。
June 1791 King Louis XVI fled. In August the following year, the king was deposed and arrested. In the meantime, riots and conflicts have been steadily increasing, and in June, angry people burst into the Tuileries Palace. In September, the National Assembly was established and announced the abolition of Wang Zheng, the implementation of the republic. At this point, it was generally preconceived that Louis XVI was destined to be tried, and his path to the guillotine was not far off. In fact, things are by no means easy. The whole process of the trial, from trial to death, of the king is full of fierce fighting.
