障壁岛是重要海岸体系之一,它是由六个相互作用的沉积环境组成。这六个环境又是形成沿岸砂体为“障壁岛”所必要的环境。这些环境为:1)大陆;2)障壁后泻湖;3)潮道及潮汐三角洲;4)障壁岛;5)障壁台地;6)滨面。每一环境的地貌动力演化和沉积演化,均影响着毗邻环境和整个体系。利用这些环境与障壁岛体系在地貌、沉积和地层上的关系,可以就相互作用的环境作出定义和描述。体系不同的环境之地层关系,可能是古地理恢复以及砂体编图的有价值的佐证。
Barrier Island is one of the most important coastal systems and consists of six interacting sedimentary environments. These six environments are also the necessary environments for the formation of sand banks along the shore as “barrier islands.” These environments are: 1) the mainland; 2) the lagoon behind the barrier; 3) the tidal channel and tidal delta; 4) the barrier island; 5) the barrier platform; and 6) the coastal surface. The dynamical evolution and sedimentary evolution of each environment affect the adjacent environment and the whole system. Using the relationship of these environments to the barrier island system in terms of geomorphology, sedimentation and stratigraphy, it is possible to define and describe the environment in which interactions occur. The stratigraphic relationships of different environments in the system may be valuable evidences of palaeogeographic restoration and sand body mapping.
