从2003年建校之初,尴尬地向崇明县青少年活动中心借址上课,同时忍受大量优秀生源流失之痛:到2005~2007年间,历经艰苦的探索和实践,逐渐建成家门口的好学校,吸引学生回流;及至今天终于由小到大、从弱而强,建设成拥有江山、城东两个校区、49个教学班、208名教职工、1840名学生的大型初级中学,东门中学经历了难忘的成长和蜕变。而这一切和校长王永飞的坚持、坚守、坚韧分不开。
